Founded by Drew Durbin and Lincoln Quirk after meeting as freshman hallmates at Brown University, the company participated in Y Combinator's W12 batch. By 2020, Sendwave was facilitating billions of dollars in annual transfers. Acquired by WorldRemit (now Zepz) in February 2021 for approximately $500 million.
