Founded through Y Combinator (S13), the company built open source infrastructure to enable Google-scale operations for any organization. CoreOS was a founding member of both the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) and the Open Container Initiative (OCI). Acquired by Red Hat in January 2018 for $250 million.
